Welcome to the Clay County Historical Society website! CCHS was formed in 1932 to "collect, preserve and disseminate the history of Clay County, Minnesota." Over the last 60 plus years we've collected tens of thousands of artifacts, photos and documents relating to the county's past. We maintain a museum and research archives in the Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead, Minnesota. If you're ever in Moorhead, stop by!

Minnesota State University Moorhead professor Maureen Reed's students have interviewed area leaders involved in this important change and donated their research materials to CCHS' permanent collections.
