A Few Thoughts About Red River Carts.
Between the 1820s and 1870s, these all-wood, two-wheeled, carts were the
semi-trucks of their day, hauling furs south from Canada and trade goods north
from St. Paul. Hear the carts' famous squeak!
Then and Now. An online
exhibit by CCHS. We took many of our old photos, found the exact spot the
photographer was standing and rephotographed the spot as it appeared in 1993.
